Vitamin cocktail may boost aging brains

NCT ID NCT07486141

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking vitamin D3, folic acid, and vitamin B12 can help people aged 50 to 70 with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) — a slight but noticeable decline in memory and thinking. Participants are split into three groups: low-dose vitamins, high-dose vitamins, or a placebo. They take the supplements for 6 months, and researchers track changes in cognitive test scores and blood vitamin levels. The goal is to see if this simple nutritional approach can slow or improve cognitive decline.
