Vitamin c may ward off UTIs after Women's surgery

Summary

This study tests whether taking vitamin C can prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by catheters in women having elective gynecologic surgery. About 180 women will be randomly assigned to receive either vitamin C or a placebo. The goal is to see if vitamin C reduces the number of UTIs after surgery.
