Vitamin c infusion trial aims to speed liver transplant healing

NCT ID NCT04756063

Summary

This study is testing whether giving high doses of vitamin C through an IV during and after liver transplant surgery helps patients recover better. Ninety liver transplant patients will receive either vitamin C or a placebo (saltwater) infusion for two days after surgery. Researchers will measure how well patients' organs function, their need for blood pressure medications, and their survival rates to see if vitamin C makes a difference.
