Blood test may replace risky biopsies for liver transplant patients

NCT ID NCT06153641

First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test measuring a protein called CK-18 can spot liver transplant rejection without needing a needle biopsy. About 70 liver transplant patients and healthy volunteers will give blood samples to compare CK-18 levels. If successful, this could make monitoring safer and easier for patients.
