Can a vitamin pill turn back the clock on aging muscles?
NCT ID NCT04691986
Summary
This study is testing whether a nutritional supplement called nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) can help improve strength, walking speed, and overall physical function in older veterans. Researchers will enroll 144 healthy adults aged 65-85 to take either the supplement or a placebo for three months. The goal is to see if boosting a natural energy molecule in the body can help stave off age-related frailty and keep people more active.
