Can a simple vitamin pill protect diabetic brains?
NCT ID NCT06322212
Summary
This study is testing whether taking vitamin B1 (thiamine) capsules for three months can improve brain function and mood in adults with type 2 diabetes. Researchers believe many people with diabetes are low in this vitamin, which might harm the brain's protective barrier. The trial will compare 52 participants taking the vitamin to those not taking it, using brain scans, memory tests, and mood questionnaires.
