Scientists map how the brain rewires itself after vision loss
NCT ID NCT05439759
Summary
This study aims to understand how the brain adapts when people lose their central vision, as happens in conditions like macular degeneration. Researchers will work with healthy young adults, using special displays to temporarily simulate vision loss and training exercises to see how vision skills improve. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help design better therapies for millions of people with low vision.
