Virtual reality tested to fight alcohol cravings
NCT ID NCT06333457
Summary
This study tested whether feeling immersed in a virtual reality (VR) world showing alcohol cues affects cravings and relapse in people recovering from alcohol dependence. It involved 60 adults who had recently completed inpatient withdrawal treatment. Researchers measured if a stronger sense of 'being there' in the VR environment was linked to higher cravings during the session and tracked drinking behavior afterward.
