Virtual reality could boost stroke recovery, early trial hints
NCT ID NCT07674329
First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether starting virtual reality-based rehabilitation within 24 hours of an acute ischemic stroke can improve arm muscle strength, thinking skills, and motivation to exercise. One hundred adults recently diagnosed with stroke will be randomly assigned to either virtual reality rehab or traditional bedside rehab. The goal is to see if the interactive, engaging nature of virtual reality leads to better recovery outcomes.
