First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at whether virtual reality can help stroke survivors who walk unevenly (taking longer steps with one leg). Researchers had 42 participants practice walking tasks in a virtual reality setup. They also tested if survivors could accurately feel how uneven their walking was. The goal was to understand how virtual reality might improve walking symmetry and body awareness after a stroke.
