Virtual reality calms preterm birth fears in hospitalized Moms-to-Be
NCT ID NCT05547724
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a virtual reality (VR) tour of the delivery room and neonatal unit could reduce anxiety in pregnant women hospitalized at high risk of preterm delivery. The 85 participants were between 24 and 34 weeks pregnant and had received steroids to help their baby's lungs. The goal was to see if VR could help prepare and relax them when an in-person tour wasn't possible.
