NCT ID NCT07203716
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether letting children watch a virtual reality (VR) tour of an MRI scanner before their real scan can reduce anxiety, movement, and the need for sedation. About 150 children aged 5 to 10 having their first MRI will be randomly assigned to either a VR tour at home plus a quick refresher at the hospital, a VR tour only at the hospital, or standard care. The main goal is to see if the VR groups have fewer motion-blurred images and need less sedation.
