Virtual reality goggles could replace sedatives during heart surgery

Summary

This study tests whether wearing virtual reality goggles during a heart device implant (like a pacemaker) under local anesthesia can reduce pain and anxiety. About 150 adults will be randomly assigned to use VR or not during the procedure. Researchers will measure pain levels and whether patients need extra calming medicine.
