Virtual reality offers new hope for chronic back pain sufferers

Summary

This study tests whether virtual reality (VR) therapy can reduce pain and improve daily function in people with chronic low back pain. Two hundred adults aged 18 to 85 with back pain lasting at least six months will be randomly assigned to one of two VR programs. Participants will use VR at home for eight weeks and report their pain levels and disability over several months.
