Virtual classes aim to better prepare Parkinson's patients for brain surgery
NCT ID NCT06436313
Summary
This study is testing whether online educational sessions help Parkinson's disease patients better understand deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery before their procedure. Researchers want to see if virtual group sessions with experts and patient stories improve knowledge and set more realistic expectations compared to standard consultations and booklets. The study involves 60 Parkinson's patients who are candidates for DBS surgery at Toronto Western Hospital.
