Could a virus trigger depression? massive study digs into medical records for clues
NCT ID NCT07453420
Summary
This study aims to understand if getting certain viral infections increases a person's risk of developing mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, or schizophrenia, or causes a relapse in people who already have these conditions. Researchers will analyze the anonymized health records of over 100,000 people in Israel to look for patterns. The goal is to identify who might be most vulnerable and what factors, like social support or other health issues, might offer protection.
