Video game boosts balance and brain power in seniors?

NCT ID NCT07433608

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether playing a special video-based game (BeCure) twice a week for 6 weeks can improve balance, hand-eye coordination, and confidence in people aged 60 and older. Researchers will compare 32 healthy older adults who play the game to a control group that does nothing. The goal is to see if this fun, low-cost approach can help prevent falls and keep minds sharp.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

video-based game training (BeCure system)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a fun, low-cost way for older adults to improve balance and mental sharpness at home.

What could go wrong

This is a very small early study (32 people) with no blinding or long-term follow-up. The control group gets no activity, so any benefit might just be from doing something engaging.
