Simple vibration device eases agony of Post-Surgery tube removal
NCT ID NCT06217263
Summary
This study tested whether simple, non-drug methods could reduce the pain and anxiety patients feel when a chest tube is removed after heart bypass surgery. Researchers compared standard care to using a vibration device and using vibration plus a cold pack during the removal procedure in 93 patients. They found that vibration significantly reduced pain and anxiety, and adding cold made it even more effective, offering a safe option nurses can easily use.
