New therapy aims to ease pain and reduce opioid reliance in veterans

Summary
This study tests a combined therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy plus Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention) for veterans with chronic pain who are also being treated for opioid use disorder. About 157 veterans will take part, comparing the new therapy to standard education sessions. The goal is to see if the therapy reduces how much pain interferes with daily life and helps with pain acceptance and cravings.
