VA launches major study to transform care for veterans with serious liver disease

Summary
This study is testing a new telehealth program designed to improve care for Veterans with advanced liver disease. A nurse counselor will work with 450 Veterans via video calls to help them understand their illness, identify their personal health goals, and make sure their treatment plans match what matters most to them. The program aims to increase discussions about treatment options like liver transplants and improve how care is planned with patients.
