Balance training may cut fall risk in Alzheimer's
NCT ID NCT03799991
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether vestibular therapy—exercises that improve inner-ear balance—can reduce falls in people with Alzheimer's disease. About 100 older adults with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's and known balance problems will receive either the therapy or a control activity. Researchers will track falls over one year to see if this first-ever approach helps.
