Flash of hope: quick combat images may rewire PTSD brains

NCT ID NCT06218381

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether showing U.S. combat veterans with PTSD very brief images of combat can change brain activity and reduce fear. About 80 veterans and healthy volunteers will view these images during an MRI scan and rate their fear. The goal is to understand how the brain responds to quick exposure, not to provide a treatment.
