Blood test could slash bleeding risks for heart attack survivors

NCT ID NCT04654052

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a blood test can help doctors safely lower the dose of strong blood thinners (P2Y12 inhibitors) in people who have had a heart attack or unstable chest pain and received a stent. The goal is to reduce bleeding complications without increasing the risk of new clots or heart attacks. About 634 adults who are already on dual antiplatelet therapy will be followed to compare outcomes between standard care and test-guided dose adjustment.
