New breathing machine strategy aims to save lives in ICU

Summary
This study is testing whether customizing ventilator settings based on detailed measurements of a patient's lung function can help more people survive severe lung failure (ARDS). It will compare this personalized approach to standard ventilator care in 740 critically ill patients, including those with and without COVID-19. The main goal is to see if this method reduces deaths within 60 days.
