Smart training vs. Old-School grind: which builds better soccer athletes?
NCT ID NCT07447258
Summary
This study tested whether a newer, 'smarter' strength training method works as well as traditional training for young soccer players. Researchers compared two versions of velocity-based training (which stops sets when speed drops) against traditional training (lifting until failure). Twenty-four elite male youth soccer players trained twice a week for six weeks, and their speed, jumping, strength, and muscle size were measured before and after.
