Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding vedolizumab to standard drugs (cyclophosphamide and tacrolimus) can prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in people receiving stem cell transplants for blood cancers like leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. GVHD occurs when donor immune cells attack the recipient's body. Vedolizumab is an antibody that may reduce gut inflammation, while the other drugs suppress the immune system. The study enrolls 35 adults aged 18 to 80 and monitors for side effects, engraftment failure, and GVHD-free survival.
