Summary

This study tested VE202, a treatment made from specific live bacteria, in people with mild-to-moderate ulcerative colitis (UC). The goal was to see if changing the gut's bacterial community could safely reduce bowel inflammation and improve symptoms. The trial was terminated early, and 114 participants were enrolled to compare VE202 against a placebo over 8 weeks, with follow-up for one year.
