Summary
This study tested a cooling spray (vapocoolant) to see if it reduces pain when placing an IV in emergency department patients. 300 adults who needed an IV were randomly given either the cooling spray or sterile water before the needle. The main goal was to measure pain scores using a 0-10 scale.
