First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking oral vancomycin can prevent a repeat Clostridioides difficile infection in people who recently had one and now need another antibiotic. About 300 adults will be randomly assigned to receive vancomycin or a placebo while on other antibiotics and for a week after. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of C. diff coming back.
