Antibiotic tested as potential new weapon against double disease

NCT ID NCT07341282

Summary

This small pilot study is testing if the antibiotic vancomycin, taken by mouth, can safely improve symptoms of active ulcerative colitis in adults who also have a liver disease called primary sclerosing cholangitis. Fourteen participants will take either the antibiotic or a placebo for four weeks to see if it helps. The main goal is to see if running this type of study is practical and safe, which will help plan larger future trials.
