First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether an AI tool that analyzes speech can help detect early signs of dementia or mild cognitive impairment. Researchers recorded the speech of 273 adults aged 55 and older, including healthy volunteers and those with memory concerns. The goal was to see if changes in how people describe images could serve as early warning signs for cognitive decline.
