First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily medication called valbenazine can reduce the urge to pull hair in adults with trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder). About 20 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo for 12 weeks, then everyone gets the drug for another 12 weeks. The goal is to see if the drug safely eases symptoms and improves control over pulling.
