Zapping the ear to soothe the stomach? scientists test new nerve link

NCT ID NCT04206540

Summary

This study aims to understand if gently stimulating a nerve in the outer ear can also activate a deeper nerve that controls stomach function. Researchers are testing this in 30 healthy volunteers by placing electrodes on the ear and neck to measure nerve signals. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help develop future treatments for nausea, vomiting, and stomach problems.
