Scientists probe brain waves and heartbeat in depression device study

NCT ID NCT07310381

Summary

This study aims to understand how an implanted vagus nerve stimulator affects the brain and body in people with hard-to-treat depression. It will enroll 12 adults who already have the device implanted as part of another clinical trial. Researchers will use brain scans (EEG and fMRI) and heart monitoring to measure changes in brain activity and heart function related to the stimulation.
