Brain zaps for the blues? new study tests nerve stimulation on mood
NCT ID NCT07476469
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at how a mild nerve stimulation (tVNS) affects decision-making in people with high anxiety or anhedonia (loss of pleasure). Participants will do tasks in VR and brain scanners to see if stimulation changes how they seek rewards or avoid threats. The goal is to understand the brain processes behind these symptoms, not to treat them directly.
