Ear-Zap device tested to calm depressed brain

NCT ID NCT04448327

Summary

This study is investigating how a gentle electrical stimulation device placed on the ear might affect the brain circuits involved in stress for people with major depression. Researchers are testing the device during a brain scan to see if it changes brain activity and heart rate patterns, and if these effects are different for men and women. The goal is to better understand how this non-invasive approach works, not to provide immediate treatment.
