Summary

This study aimed to understand how different vaginal infections and bacteria might affect when a baby is born. Researchers followed 603 pregnant women in South Africa, testing them for common infections and analyzing their vaginal bacteria at two points during pregnancy. The main goal was to see if specific germs or combinations of germs were linked to babies being born too early.
