New hope for easing painful side effects after cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT07407647

Summary

This study is testing whether a vaginal hormone treatment called DHEA can help improve vaginal health and reduce discomfort for women who have had radiation therapy for certain gynecologic or gastrointestinal cancers. Radiation can cause symptoms like vaginal dryness, pain during sex, and irritation. The study will enroll 25 menopausal women to use the DHEA treatment daily for 3 months to see if it is safe and helps ease these symptoms.
