VA launches major trial to help veterans manage pain and reduce opioid risks

Summary
This VA study is testing whether adding Whole Health Coaching to standard pain management helps veterans with chronic pain. The coaching focuses on personal health goals across eight areas of wellness to improve daily function and reduce opioid-related safety concerns. Researchers will compare outcomes for 432 veterans who either receive standard care alone or standard care plus coaching sessions over several months.
