VA launches major study: can a monthly shot beat daily pills in fighting opioid crisis?

Summary
This study aims to find out if a monthly injection for opioid addiction works better than the standard daily pills at helping veterans stay in treatment and avoid using opioids. It will follow 952 veterans with opioid addiction for one year to see which treatment leads to better long-term results. The goal is to provide clearer guidance on the most effective treatment options.
