New combo surgery aims to fix Post-C-Section bleeding
NCT ID NCT07183501
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new surgical approach for women with a uterine niche (a small pocket in the C-section scar) that causes abnormal bleeding. The procedure combines two steps: first, a hysteroscopy to remove unhealthy tissue, then a laparoscopy to cut out and repair the scar. Researchers will measure changes in uterine wall thickness and how many women have complete relief from spotting. The trial aims to enroll 30 participants.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Combined hysteroscopic and laparoscopic repair (procedure)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective surgical option to stop postmenstrual spotting and improve uterine wall thickness in women with a symptomatic niche after C-section.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Surgery carries risks like infection or scarring, and the procedure may not fully resolve symptoms.
