New stitch technique may reduce uterine scar defects after C-Section
NCT ID NCT07229222
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new way of stitching the uterus after a first-time C-section to see if it could prevent a scar defect called a 'niche.' 380 women were randomly assigned to get either the new stitch method or the standard one. The researchers then used ultrasound to check for niches 6 months later. The goal was to find a better surgical technique to improve long-term uterine healing.
