Urine test may spare bladder cancer patients from unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT07130578

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a urine test that detects tumor DNA and RNA can guide the need for a second surgery in people with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. About 60 participants will provide urine samples before a planned second surgery, and the test results will be compared to the surgical findings. The goal is to see if the urine test can accurately identify who truly needs the repeat procedure, potentially avoiding unnecessary surgeries and their risks.
