Urine DNA test may spare bladder cancer patients from unnecessary scopes

NCT ID NCT07180212

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a urine DNA test can help decide when high-risk bladder cancer patients need a cystoscopy (a camera exam inside the bladder). Cystoscopy is uncomfortable and can cause side effects, but it's the standard way to check for cancer return. The urine test is non-invasive and may detect cancer early. If successful, patients could have fewer cystoscopies without missing recurrences, making follow-up easier and safer.
