Tape vs. band: the battle to make catheters safer for ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07093437

Summary

This study aims to find out which type of device is better for holding a urinary catheter in place for patients in intensive care: an adhesive patch or an elastic band. Researchers will compare the two to see which one causes fewer skin injuries, less pain, and fewer infections. About 188 patients will be randomly assigned to use one of the two devices during their ICU stay.
