Summary

This completed study followed 413 Canadian adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis who were prescribed upadacitinib by their doctors. Researchers tracked how well the drug controlled symptoms like joint pain and stiffness over 24 months. The goal was to see if the drug's benefits seen in earlier trials hold up in real-world settings.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
upadacitinib
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could confirm that upadacitinib works well in everyday practice to control rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be less reliable. It also does not test new uses or long-term safety beyond 24 months.
