NCT ID NCT07023302
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests a daily pill called upadacitinib for people with severe alopecia areata, a condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles, causing significant hair loss. About 123 adults and teens in Japan with at least 25% scalp hair loss will take either the drug or a placebo for up to 104 weeks. The goal is to see if the drug can safely regrow hair and improve how patients feel about their hair.
