First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at blood samples from 80 children (ages 2–17) recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and compares them to healthy children. Researchers want to understand how certain immune cells (called CD4 T cells) stop working properly, leading to the disease. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help develop new cell-based treatments to restore immune balance.
