Scientists hunt for clues to prevent sudden epilepsy deaths
NCT ID NCT04134754
Summary
This study aims to understand why some people with epilepsy experience dangerous breathing problems after seizures, which can lead to sudden unexpected death (SUDEP). Researchers will monitor 335 adults with epilepsy during hospital stays, testing how their bodies respond to increased carbon dioxide levels. Participants will be followed for ten years to track their health and gather information about what might cause SUDEP.
