Stanford researchers probe Ketamine's Mind-Altering effects in epilepsy

Summary
This study aims to understand how ketamine produces feelings of dissociation (feeling detached from yourself or reality). Researchers will give ketamine to 20 adults with epilepsy who are staying in a monitoring unit at Stanford. They will measure dissociative symptoms using a standard questionnaire. The goal is to learn more about the brain mechanisms behind these effects, not to treat epilepsy.
